A free directory of events, workshops, and grants across nine upstate New York regions. Not NYC.
How it works
Listings are curated from real arts organizations and verified against their websites. Browse by region and event type, or use the Plan a Trip tab to build a personalised itinerary for any upstate region.
Anyone can submit a listing. All submissions go into a review queue and are approved before going live.
Artstate NY is a one-person project. If you find an error, wrong date, or closed organization, please use the Report Issue link on any card or the Submit Listing form. Accuracy reports are reviewed and applied directly.

Artstate NY consolidates opportunities from NYSCA, NEFA, regional community foundations, and artist-run organizations so you do not need to monitor dozens of separate websites. Deadlines are shown clearly on every grant listing. Submit your own events and opportunities through the header form.

New York’s art world does not begin and end with Manhattan.
The Buffalo AKG has collected seriously since 1862. Dia:Beacon holds monumental work that no Manhattan white cube can accommodate. Glimmerglass draws international critics to Cooperstown every summer. Art Omi spreads sculpture across 120 acres of open Catskill land.
